Veteran and artist Shanna Rodenberg served col-sm-6 years as a U.S. Army Sergeant. Upon returning from Afghanistan in 2005, she began to experiment with making jewelry out of spent ammunition. What began as a hobby to help adjust to civilian life has turned into a thriving career that we are thrilled to support! Shanna and her business partner Fred work with our team to design and produce all Sword & Plough jewelry from 50 caliber shell casings. Each piece has been hand shaped and hammered to create a truly one of a kind product.

Tim Kennedy is a U.S. Army veteran who started making leather goods over forty-five years ago. He honed his creativity and technical skills while living in the back room of a leather repair shop, before eventually branching out on his own. He and his wife Esther now run a small leather workshop in Florida. Tim’s incredible talents and attention to detail have enabled us to expand to fine leather goods! He is currently producing our line of durable vegetable-tanned wallets and we are working with him on a new unique line of luxury leather bags!

David Carmichael served 23 years in the Army before retiring and starting a business focused on products for the diving industry. He initially worked overseas, but ultimately moved all production in-house and now manufactures his own line of products, as well as all client products, at his Florida based facility. Focusing on American made production has allowed David to cater to smaller American businesses like Sword & Plough. He has also been able to focus on military contracts, which often require that products be made in the United States. His company is a VA VIP Certified Service Disabled Small Business.

GreenVetsLA is a program connected to the VA, which provides veterans with community support, job skills and therapy through sewing workshops. The non-profit organization was founded by Jim Cragg, a veteran of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command who currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves. Sword & Plough is proud to collaborate with GreenVetsLA on prototyping and product manufacturing, and also to support GreenVetsLA with financial donations as part of our commitment to donate 10% of profits to veteran non-profit organizations.
